Fresh GKA season slated to have 16 events on five continents with Big Air Twin-Tip set to enjoy three stops at some of planet’s windiest spots

The Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour is about to launch into a new season. Sixteen events are on the cards, with the year set to kick-off with Kite-Surf on Cape Verde’s Sal Island in mid-February.

The year is due to round out in late November, with the climax for the Freestyle season in Fuwairit, Qatar, home of the tour’s title sponsors. It will be the final of the six-event calendar that is slated to take in two new destinations—Zanzibar, Tanzania and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico—as well as Colombia, France and Brazil.

Hydrofoil-Freestyle has two scheduled stops for 2024: Sylt, Germany, in August, and Ceará, Brazil, in November.

The Big-Air Twin-Tip discipline is due to get an expanded schedule, with opening the year opening in Barcarès, France, at the Lords of Tram event. The Twin-Tip year will round out in the big winds of Gran Canaria, Spain, in late July. It will also take in Tarifa, Spain, at the Qatar Airways GKA Big Air World Championships in June, where the Big Air Surfboard and Hydrofoil world champions will be crowned.

It promises to be another blockbuster season filled with drama and excitement on the Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour, spread over five continents and 13 destinations. See full details of the event programme here.
